St Louis Language Immersion School

We have had another milestone this week.  Our daughter started her first day of Kindergarten on Monday.  She is attending St Louis Language Immersion School which is a charter school, that is free of charge to the students who attend.  The school is new to St. Louis and it follows the International Baccalaureate curriculum and Primary Years teaching style.  Rani will be taught a normal kindergarten curriculum entirely in French.  There is also a Spanish school that two of her friends from preschool are attending.  We are thrilled to be a part of this new learning community.  It is a magnificent elementary school option for families with young children in St Louis City.

Children's Enrichment Center Class of 2010

This past weekend our daughter graduated from preschool at Children's Enrichment Center.  They put on quite a graduation ceremony for the kids.  Full caps, gowns, 2010 tassels, the whole nice yards.  We are very excited to see Rani growing up and going to kindergarten and it was sad to say goodbye to the people who have taken such great care of her for so long!  We truly feel fortunate to have found Children's Enrichment Center.  Ms Margaret runs an exceptional facility on the edge of downtown at Market and Ewing, just West of Jefferson.  Rani learned so much there.  Her colors, her ABC's, to write her name, her small letters, capital letters, how to share and be a good friend to her classmates.  If you are need of quality reasonably priced child care, we can't recommend them highly enough!  We loved the diversity of the kids who attended CEC.  A lot of families of Sigma Aldridge and Waccovia employees attend Children's Enrichment Center. 

Thank you to Ms Margaret, Ms Roshanwda, Ms Janice, Ms Lisa and Ms Kim for taking such great care of our happy graduate. 

St Louis Gym Center Rocks!

Rani is still enjoying her gymnastic classes at St Louis Gym Center in Webster Groves.  They are great at teaching the kids, making things fun and burning off that extra energy.

Happy Halloween

 
  

Sorry this is late, and I had to share this year's Happy Halloween wishes.  Rani was a pink unicorn this year.  Rani announced this year she wanted to be a unicorn and I was horrified because I never recall seeing a unicorn costume before and did not know how I was going to pull off the horn on the head thing.  Imagine my relief to find a unicorn costume at K Mart.  I was Thrilled!!!  I have never displayed any gift of creating Halloween costumes as my friends will attest.  One year I went at agent Scully after being told by about 100 people that my photo looked like her.  I had never even seen the X Files so I had no clue.

Fun and Egg-Citement!

We went to Eckert's Farm in Belleville last week for their Egg-Citement activities and it was so much fun!  Rani is 3 1/2 now and really starting to understand egg hunts, easter baskets and so on.  It was so much fun to watch her run around in the beautiful spring air.  She did the egg hunt, she got a face paint of an easter egg on her cheek, we rode the tractor (3 times), she petting baby ducks and chicks, she planted a seed so she could watch it grow, she decorated a cookie with icing and sprinkles, we stood in line to see the easter bunny 3 times and she never did get closer than 3 feet from him.  It was a great time.  I highly recommend this for everyone.

Here Comes Santa Claus!

 

This is the first year that Rani really understands Christmas and Santa Claus and she wanted to go a meet him this year.  That is a first.  The past two years she would scream or turn and run in terror at the sight of him.  Imagine our surprise when we went to the mall this week and she saw Santa and ran to get in line because she wanted to meet him and ask him to bring her a pink watch. 

I hope you enjoy the holidays this year.  May you have much to be thankful for.  We sure do.
